Dolphins Summer League

Summer Swimming, Summer Fun

At the Dolphins we can smile
even when we swim!

The ACC Dolphins is a summer league swim program associated with the Athens Clarke County Department of Leisure Services and the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA).

The team is open to children ages 18 and below who live in Athens and the surrounding counties. Coaches are USA Swimming certified Instructors and are supplied by the Athens Bulldog Swim Club.

Dolphins summer swimming is a great way to learn about the sport and become involved in the Athens community.  To see more about who we are and what we do, visit the Dolphins Facebook Group Page.

If you have a question for the coaching staff, you may contact Coach Pirie Humphries via email at

2016 Season

The ACC Dolphins are registered with the Georgia Recreation and Park Association (GRPA) and compete in the Class A State Swim League. Meets are held throughout the summer against various local summer league clubs, meaning both schedule and opponents will vary from year to year. Swimmers must be registered members of the Dolphins Swim Team in order to compete.  Registration for the 2016 season is now closed. For more information on the registration schedule, visit the Department of Leisure Services website.

Swimmers who would like to participate in 2016 Swimming Season are asked to fill out the Swim Meet Registration Form and return it to the Dolphins coaches no later than Friday, June 3rd. Swimmers who have not completed the form by the above date cannot be guaranteed spots in any of the season’s meets.

As always with youth sports, a successful program depends on parent involvement.  Volunteers are needed for various administrative jobs throughout the season, as well as during each of the five swim meets.  To find out how you can help, please consult the Dolphins Volunteer Handbook.
